NASS Finally Passes 2019 Budget with 86Billion Increase
After much speculations, the National Assembly of Nigeria has finally passed the passed the 2019 National Budget into law, with an 86 billion naira increase.
The budget, which is a sum of N8.916 trillion contradicted the sum of N8.83 trillion which the President, Muhammadu Buhari had proposed.
The passage of the budget had been postponed before it was finally passed into law today, 30th April, 2019.
The new budget figure was passed after a report was presented to the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday by Danjuma Goje, the chairman senate committee on appropriations.
The new budget presented, after much consideration by the senate had an increase of N86 billion, contrary to what the president had presented on December 19, 2018 to the National Assembly.
