Kaduna APC: Ruling Party Loses Influential Member To opposition Paty PDP
The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kaduna state chapter deepens as key party chieftains are leaving the party in droves.
Another chieftain of the party who is a founding member, Alhaji Lawal Adamu Usman, popularly known as ‘Mr LA,’ has announced his resignation in the APC party.
NIGERIA NEWS notes that more influential members are dumping the APC in Kaduna state over what they described as high handedness by party’s managers in the state.
Adamu’s resignation is coming few days after a former Kaduna gubernatorial aspirant of the party, Isa Ashiru Kudan, dumped the ruling party for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
He said he dumped the APC for “the indiscriminate persecutions of party members with the aim of restricting the space for their aspirations,” as well as his suspension from the party alongside other chieftains.
In a resignation letter addressed to the APC chairman of Ungwan Dosa ward in Kaduna north local government, Alhaji Adamu said resigning from APC was the only principled decision that can be made in the circumstances of the many crises rocking the party in the state.
Copied in the letter were Governor El-Rufai, national chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari.

The letter read in parts: “It is with regret that I write to inform you that I have decided to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress as from today. As you know, I have been a member of the APC since its inception four years ago.
“I was one of its original founders back in 2014. I have, since that time, deployed ample energy, precious time and enormous resources towards the growth of the party and its eventual victories at state and federal levels.
“But, here, we are in 2019, just three short years after the APC’s electoral high point, and everything has gone belly up in Kaduna state. A party that was once composed of committed comrades and loyal friends – united in the struggle for change, fairness, justice and national progress – has now turned into a party at war with itself.
“Bitter recriminations, acrimonious rancour and false accusations have been bandied about leading to unfair and unjustifiable persecution of loyal members by a handful of favoured government cronies. The atmosphere inside the party has today turned ugly and toxic.
In a related development, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) ready to announce their position on whether to leave the APC party of stay this week.
Bagudu has stripped Karatu of her police protection, denied her pension, Fani-Kayode alleges
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode has alleged that Kebbi governor, Atiku Bagudu has withdrawn the police protection given to sacked former Chief Justice of the state, Asabe Karatu.
Fani-Kayode, who had lambasted Bagudu and his wife for the action after Karatu alleged that she was not confirmed because of her Christian faith expressed surprise at such treatment meted out to someone with 38-years experience in the civil service.
He further revealed that Zainab Bagudu the governor’s wife has invited him to Kebbi to see her cow after telling her he doesn’t need her attention.
See his statement below.
“Well spoken. When I raised this issue of great national importance she said that I should be ignored and that I am looking for attention. When I told her off and said that I am not interested in her attention and that I don’t do other peoples wives she invited me to Kebbi for a visit and said I should come and see her cows.
‘This is someone who I have known since she was 15 and someone whose father I revered. Instead of offering a plausible explanation for her husband’s shameful behaviour or calling me privately to put their side of the story she insulted me publicly.
“Well, I am not surprised. After all I am just a Christian. The attitude of these people amazes me.
“Meanwhile, I spoke to the former CJ Asabe Karatu at length and the story is even worse than the public is aware of. The Gov. is so vindictive that he has taken away all her police protection, her official vehicle that she is entitled to and all the other perks that are her due.
“He has also denied her of her full pension by refusing to confirm her and then sacking her. This is after 38 years of diligent and meritorious service in the states civil service and Judiciary. And all because she is Christian and she refused to be a puppet to Atiku Bagudu. What a tragedy!”
He, therefore, stated that the respect that can be given to the South West is to ensure that power returns to the region in 2023.
“The President and indeed our party must beware of divisive elements who are now proponents of retaining power in the north beyond 2023 . Power shift to the SW in 2023 is the best honour that can be bestowed on the late Chief MKO Abiola.
“The solution to our problems is not a power shift but restructuring or separation. Even if you shift power between the north and south for the next 100 years it means nothing. As long as some regard themselves as the master race and others as their slaves nothing will change. We are not interested in sharing power with the north: we are interested in winning our freedom from them.”

Shut up and leave PDP if you have no value to add, Agbaje tells Bode George
Former Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje has told former Deputy National Chairman, Bode George to shut up and leave the party if he has no value to add.
There has been disagreement between George and Agbaje over the outcome of the governorship election in Lagos that returned Babajide Sanwo-olu elected as both have been blaming each other for the failure of the party to win the state.
Recently, the duo are at each other’s throat over defection insinuations, which both have denied.
Agbaje had accused George of insinuating his defection from the PDP, when he was described as a failed governorship candidate.
Speaking on the clash, media aide to Agbaje, Felix Oboagwina, denied reports that his principal had dumped the opposition party and also accused the leadership of the party in Lagos of alleged plans to “give the dog a bad name and chase it away from the party.”
On the social media posts that Agbaje had left the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, Oboagwina said they were untrue.
“There is nothing like that, nothing like that at all. He is still in PDP; he has not defected. How can people say he has defected on social media? He is too big for that; he is in PDP.”
When asked if there were plans by his principal to dump the PDP for APC, he answered in the negative.
“People should please tell Bode George to shut up and leave PDP if he lacks any value to add to the party, instead of being a dog in the manger hampering the progress of the party in Lagos State.
“He should tell the world where he got the news being spread around.
