Another gale of defection has reportedly hit the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo chapter, as over 1,100 members and leaders of the ruling party defected to the Peoples Democratic Party at Etsako Central local government area of the state.
NIGERIA NEWS gathered that the defectors resigned their membership from the party and joined forces with PDP on Friday, August 10.
While receiving the defectors at a rally at Oghomere Ekperi in Etsako central-local government area, the state chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih said: “It is an uncommon honour for the party to receive and welcome over 1,100 members and leaders of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the local government council area.”
Orbih said the over 1,100 members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) who defected to the PDP have expanded the political support base of the party in Edo state and Nigeria.
In a related development, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that about 589, 137 defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo.
