3 Men, Woman Land In Court Over Alleged Burglary, Theft Of Foodstuffs Worth N596,000

Driver Lands An Court Over Alleged Theft Of 4 International Passports, 200 Dollars

Three men and a woman on Friday appeared at an Okitipupa Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ondo State over alleged conspiracy and stealing of foodstuffs and other items valued at N596, 000.

The accused are Taiye Rabiu, 25, a businessman, Abayomi Adebayo, 26, bricklayer, Akinyele Ekusi, 50, a farmer and Ruth Balogun, 32, a trader.

They were appearing in court on a four-count charge bordering on felony, burglary, stealing and buying of stolen goods.

The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi told the court that the first and second accused and one other still at large had on Aug. 22 around 10:30 p.m burgled a shop.

He said that the action was to commit felony and steal from the shop located at the New Garage, along Ode-Aye Road, Okitipupa.

He said the first and second accused stole 20 bags of rice valued at N328,000, and  13 pieces of 25 litres of vegetable oil valued at N156,000.

He added that they also stole six kegs of Soya Bean oil valued at  N78,000, five kegs of vegetable oil valued at N34,000, all totalling  N596, 000.

The prosecutor said that the goods belonged to one Fagbemi Oluwa.

The prosecutor also said that the third accused had on Aug. 27 at 2:00 p.m at Old Garage in Okitpupa received some quantities of rice from one Star Boy, knowing fully well the item was stolen.

Orogbemi also told the court that the fourth accused had on Aug. 25  at  06: 30 p.m., at the Old Garage, Okitipupa,  also received three bags of rice valued at N48,000.

The prosecutor added that the accused also received five packs of Coca-Cola drinks valued at N5,300 from one Laisi Balogun, knowing well it was a stolen property.

He said that all the accused committed the offences contrary to Sections 415, 516, 390(9) and 427, Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them.

Chief Magistrate Dickson Ogunfuyi granted the first and second accused bail in the sum of N500,000 each and a surety each in like sums.

He said each of the sureties must show evidence of a year”s tax clearance and being ownership of landed properties.

Ogunfuyi also granted the third and fourth accused bail in the sum of N200,000 each and a surety each in like sums.

He also said that each of them must also provide evidence of a year’s tax clearance.

He adjourned the case until Oct. 25 for further hearing.

See the damages caused by heavy rainfall and flood in Lagos state today

We are just in the month of May but residents of Lagos state, in the commercial center of Nigeria have taken to social media as they complained bitterly about the havoc wrecked as result of the heavy downpour the State today, May 20, 2019.

The only reason that calls for concern is that we are still in the month of May, as Lagos state have always been one of those states yearly affected by flooding in Nigeria. This is down to the coastal location of the state coupled with poor drainage system.

The rain which started in the early hours of Monday caused many displeasure, which prompted many to take on social media to vent their discontent on the lingering problem.

Aside from the complaint of Legosians, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) reported the collapse of two buildings, one in Abule Egba and the other near Ladipo Bus Stop in Oshodi.

“A building consisting of 4 rooms built on the fence of house 13 Erinjiyan Drive off Alhaja Mulika street had collapsed due to heavy rain,” the agency disclosed.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported on flash floods immediately after the rain in Ijaiye inward Meiran. Some trees were fell on the road, preventing road users from moving freely. LASTMA officers swung to action to ensure the trees are cleared off the road.

Residents of Lagos have taken to twitter to call on Governor Elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to make that a top priority when sworn in.

Dosumu Ayomide, Twitter weed laced brownies seller in an online scam scandal

A lady who deals in weed laced brownies, Dosumu Ayomide have been accused of multiple scandal by Twitter user, NIGERIA NEWS report.

Ayomide fearlessly promoted her business on Twitter sometimes last year, as she display the pictures of placed orders she delivered. This has got many people attracted to her.

Dosumu have been called out by a Twitter user, with username, @iamfemifactor for engaging in scandalous acts.
Femi Factor alleged her of taking a loan and refusing to acknowledge the money which he transferred to him. She allegedly denied receiving the money, which prompted him to call him out. Other people thereafter to Twitter to confirm that, alleging her of the said act and even shaming her.

He posted, “Here goes the story of the #5KScammer @OgShallz I dont usually call people out but taking loans and claiming not to receive it and also taking orders for your business and not delivering what people order is a big fraud and scam.”

So on Thursday I got a distress message from @ogshallz that she needed 5k which she would return by weekend, to my surprise, when i sent the money, she claimed she never recieved it, I got so worried that i even contacted barter by @theflutterwave Nd they confirmed d transaction

Was successful, but she kept denying it saying her bank’s systems were down, I even offered to help by sending her the transaction Id but she never sent back a screenshot of complaining about it. She emphasized I should send another which spooked me off right away
