4 UN Officials In Borno Dies From Boko Haram Attack
About four members of the UN have been reported dead in an attack carried out by the Boko Haram.
The attack which occurred at mid-night happened at Rann community in Kala Balge Local Government of Borno State.
After the attack, some others have also been reported missing while several others sustained varying injuries.
This was made known by Samantha Newport, Head of Communications, UNICEF Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
According to her, “two of the deceased were personnel of UN client organisation, International Organisation of Migration ( IOM), deployed in Rann as camp managers.”
She added that, “others killed were a medical doctor working as consultant with UNICEF and an aid worker with International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) affiliate organisation.”
She also revealed that, “a female nurse was abducted, while another female aid worker was injured in the attack.”
“All the deceased personnel were Nigerians.”
Military authorities have yet to comment on the incident
