– Lagos State governor Ambode has promised that his administration will develop the Lagos Central Business Districts
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said that his administration is keen on developing the Lagos Central Business Districts.
He said this at the 2017 Stakeholders Forum with the theme, ‘Revitalisation of Central Business District for Economic Growth,’ at Onikan Youth Centre, Lagos Island.
Governor Ambode, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello, said the ongoing reconstructions on the Lagos Island CBD, would soon transform the area.
He made a statement saying, “the CBD is the financial economic hub of the state and the nation. Billions of naira exchange hands daily in this locations and the influx of people from other states and indeed other parts of the world reveals the strategic relevance of the CBD.”
“Currently, the CBD is under pressure for development due to over stretched facilities.”
“There is the need therefore for stakeholders within the zone to come together and develop a sustainable system in order to ensure a thriving base for local, national and international economy,” Ambode said.
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Government on CBD, Mr. Agboola Dabiri, adviced stakeholders to work together “for our mutual benefit.”
