A 20-year-old barber, Darasimi Adediran, who allegedly broke into a grandmother’s room and stole
N18, 000, was on Wednesday brought before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan.

The accused entered the room of an 85-year-old, Mrs Omolara Afolabi, and stole the sum of N18, 000, Police Prosecutor
Opeyemi Olagunju told the court.
“Adediran is the neighbour of the octogenarian, Mrs Afolabi, living in the same rented apartment and he entered her room
to steal N18, 000.
“After Adediran had succeeded in stealing the money, he then brought a gas cylinder and asked her to buy it.
“The woman refused because the cylinder has no receipt,’’ said Olagunju.
He said the offences were committed on June 26 at 10.00 a.m. at Ajanla Street, Oke Ado, Ibadan.
The offences contravened Section 88, 390 (9), and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
