Tall and dark, as he smiled from afar, his set of white teeth shined at me, he dazzled in the white guinea he had on, in fact he could easily pass for an angel only if angels are dark in completion.
Being the bold type, i was asked by my mum’s friend to announce the departure of my friend to the United States as soon as we finished our examination for the session. It was actually a surprise trip meant to mark her sixteenth birthday. Anne Orji was to travel in company of her aunt to the United States for four weeks.
Yes, the announcement was made by me, and I could read disappointment in Anne’s face on hearing the news. Her parents never knew that she already had plans for the holiday, but all the same, Anne left for the US a month after and never returned to Nigeria, as she was made to stay back with her aunt to continue her education.
