Just a few weeks ago, Nigerianews NG published an article on Fela Durotoye, a studious man working towards transforming Nigeria by training and producing transformational leaders across all works of life. A man who hopes to succeed President Muhammad Buhari in 2019 Presidential election.
2019 is pacing towards a drastic close and Nigerians are earnestly preparing towards coming out en masse to put in their mandates for the leaders they hope to govern them within the next four years. Some Nigerians have stated emphatically that they are tired of the old politicians and the bad culture of recycling leaders in the country’s polity.
Today, Nigerianews NG tells the story of Garba Adamu, a thirty-five-year-old vibrant young man who hopes to also succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in the oncoming presidential election.
Garba Adamu is the Founder of a leading cloud computing firm in Lagos, named IPI Solutions Nigeria Limited. He currently sits and serves as the Chief Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the company and has so far forged the company into becoming one of the leading indigenous I.T consulting firms in Nigeria.
Garba was born in Luggere ward in Jimeta, Yola-North Local Govt of Adamawa State, Nigeria to Alhaji Adamu Jauro Garba, a local Islamic scholar and a petty trading mother by name Hajiya Hadiza Garba.
In 1990, Garba was among the pioneer students that launched the Jambutu primary school, where he began his primary education. An education which started beneath trees because there was no readily available infrastructure as at the time of commencement.
After his secondary school education, he and group of other progressive enthusiast formed an association called Jimeta Youth Progressive Association in Yola-North local government. An association formed for the sole purpose of promoting youth participation in politics.
Garba Adamu served as the president of the association for three years spanning from 2001 down to 2004. a position that inspired his ambition of one day becoming the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
After his tenure as president of the Jimeta association, he gained admission into the Kano University of Technology through a pre-degree program to study electrical engineering.
While in the university he collaborated with progressive minds from within and outside his campus, and they together formed an inter-school association called National Youth Coalition for Sustainable Democracy (NYCSD) where he merged as the First President. The sole aim of the association was to strengthen democracy in Nigeria.
His involvement in the youth organization gained him so a bit of popularity amongst students, and it was only a matter of time before he was dragged into student politics. Students observed some of his leadership traits, pushed him forward to run for the presidency of the student union.
Garba campaigned on the principle of one Nigeria, equal treatment for all, irrespective of state, tribe, or religion. It was hugely successful as nearly all students bought the idea and rallied behind him. his popularity grew.
Garba Adamu led a movement tagged Vision 2007-2019 which was anchored on the platform of NYCSD. The initiative of the movement was gearing Nigeria from a third world nation to among the leading first world economies. The movement was to transcend to 2019 where full implementation of the proposed national plan could start after his intended emergence as president of Nigeria.
At some point during his studies at the Kano University of Technology, a riot broke out between indigenous students and non-indigenous students of the university. Garba was rusticated from the school after the school authorities found out that some rioters were members and supporters of his organization.
The rustication did not, however, hinder Garba from seeking development in himself. The rustication gave him ample opportunity to shift the focus of his academics to a more practical scenario. He joined NIIT in Kano and began studies in Microsoft Systems and technology under their MSCE program.
As at that time in 2005, he had never touched or used a computer. Considering its real-life applications, he fell in love with computers and became more inquisitive about it until he built a career out of it, the result of which is IPI Solutions Nigeria Limited.
Today, IPI Solutions Nigeria Limited has gained numerous local and international recognition and awards including;
- Africa’s most Valuable Business Technology Solutions Provider 2016 by African Quality Institute.

The reason behind his intention to become president is the guilt of watching the country fall into a deplorable state and his inability to do anything about it because he was not in charge. In leadership, age is not a barrier, wisdom is key. He has an excellent manifesto on how to improve the life of ordinary Nigerians by deliberate and committed effort to transit from poverty.
The main question now is “Are Nigerians willing to give him a chance?”
