After Their Break Up Some Hit Songs By P-Square So Far

Back in 2001, the music duo Peter and Paul Okoye won the Grab da Mic competition and became the group that is popularly known today as P-Square. Ever since then, the music duo has made it their duty to give Nigerians the real taste of entertainment and the whole of Africa, indeed by creating music and giving us the best they have in stock. Sometime in 2016, the twin brothers had a major public fight that had the whole of Nigerians thinking they were going to end things. However, they bounced back again and went ahead to make music until a few days back when they shared subliminal messages on Instagram and according to reports, Peter has filed a letter of termination. Whatever the real cause of their break is, we wish them good luck as they deem fit.  Nigerianews.net can only help but ponder on the magic they’ve created together over the past 16 years of entertainment as a music duo;

1. Do Me (featuring Waje)

About 12 years ago the twin brothers released their unforgettable single ‘Do me’. It was written by Paul Okoye who is one half of the duo.

“The internationally acclaimed Do Me….was dreaming one night and I woke up singing this song…then j.martins was at our place .., called him,woke my twin brother up and told them I think I have a HIT …and it was a dream come true”, Paul revealed on social media a few months ago.

3. No One Like You

“No One Like You” was released as one of the album’s singles. According to Forbes’ 40 Most Powerful Celebrities in Africa article, the song has been viewed over 10 million times on YouTube. The music video for the “No One Like You” was shot and directed by the duo’s elder brother, Jude Engees Okoye. The song received the most airplay from the album. Wale did a remix to the song in 2011. In 2010, Ugandan reggae duo Radio and Weasel released a song entitled “Zuena”; the song was sampled from “No One Like You”.

4. Ifunanya

The music video for “Ifunanya” was shot and directed in South Africa by Jude Engees Okoye. In the Igbo language, “Ifunanya” loosely means “love inspires love”. The word is a fusion of “Ife” (love) and “funánya” (one who inspires love).

5. Personally

“Personally” is a song by Nigerian R&B duo P-Square, released as the second single from their sixth studio album Double Trouble (2014). 6. Collabo (featuring Don Jazzy)

P-Square release the long awaited video to arguably the biggest song off their recent album, “Collabo“. Nothing short of an archetypical P-Square video, the flick which also features Don Jazzy, is a classy pictorial with a brief comic story-line about it. Shot in S.A on different beautiful and crisp scenes, the Clarence Peters directed video is nothing but top notch.

Due to Naira Marley’s late entry and poor weather conditions, the court hearing expected to begin at 9:00 am was put on hold for a few minutes.

Even after this late showing, the hearings could not start at 9:46. The lead defense attorney, Olalekan Ojo (SAN), was also late for the arraignment.

Rotimi Oyedepo’s led prosecuting counsel pleaded that the musician  be remanded in prison detention until bail request was heard.

Following this process, Taiwo Oreagba who is representing the rapper passed a bail application and the accused’s need to remain in EFCC custody.

Justice Oweibo, having heard from both sides, asserted that the bail application will be considered on May 30, 2019.

Meanwhile, A woman clearly appearing to be distraught broke down in tears when she saw her son arrived with the EFCC. She was later confirmed by SaharaReporters to be the mother of Naira Marley

She had become flustered again after the court hearing, trembling as the EFCC passed him over to state prosecutors until May 30, 2019.
