Ahead of the 2019 elections, Governor Akeredolu have charged youths to support Buhari in 2019 and contest subsequently.
Akeredolu who is the Governor of Ondo State made this known during the 2018 Youths’ Day celebration held at the Adegbemile Cultural Centre in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Speaking during the event as NIGERIA NEWS gathered, he urged “youths to ensure that they grab the presidential seat, their energy must be channel towards constructive analysis instead of frivolities.”
“Let me state it that the youths will have to wait till 2023 before running for the presidential seat.”
“Because this is when Buhari would have completed his second term in the office by God’s grace.”
“The older generation may not want to allow you (youth) because they will continue to dream dreams.”
“But you can beat them to it if only you can see visions with your vision and your intellectual capacity.”
The Governor, however, assured the youths of his support whenever the need arises, and urged them to take up leadership positions in the society.
According to him, “there is the need for the Nigerian youths to come up with sound innovations that would further propel the developmental drive in the country, adding that he has never been shy to ask his sons who are technologically savvy for directions.”
