Hon. Jagaba Of Kaduna State Announces His Defection From APC To PDP
It was another day of cross-carpeting on the floor of the House of Representatives as a member of the House from Kaduna State shifted allegiances between the two major political parties.
Hon. Jagaba Adams Jagaba representing the Kachia/Kagarko Constituency in Kaduna State today announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Prior to his public announcement on the floor of the lower legislative House, Jagaba had initially made known his intention to defect in his home constituency in Kaduna.
This was confirmed on Thursday as the House started proceedings and Hon Jagaba said: “I’m Hon Jagaba Adams Jagaba and I’m of the PDP.”
His declaration caused an immediate reaction from the Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara who allegedly retorted: “No, no, Jagaba. You can’t do this to me.”
After the ensuing ruckus amongst the Honourable from both the PDP and the APC, Dogara addressed the House again saying: “The truth is that I’m not aware and the House is not aware. As a ranking member, you know what to do. So, as far as we’re concerned, you’re still a member of APC.”
