Two lawmakers in the Kaduna State House of Assembly have also joined others who have quit the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The lawmakers include the Deputy Speaker of the house, John Audu Kwaturu and a member who represents the Kudan state constituency in the Assembly, Junaidu Yakubu.
The information as gathered by NIGERIA NEWS was relayed to reporters by Kwataru via telephone conversation yesterday.
The deputy speaker disclosed that he has forwarded an official letter to his ward in order to notify them of his defection.
In the words of Kwataru: “I have left the APC for the PDP, my reasons for leaving the APC are stated in the letter to my Kwataru ward.
Kwataru also revealed that even the Chairman of his ward has abandoned the ruling party.
Quoting him, “It will interest you to know that even my ward chairman has left the APC.”
Yakubu on his own part disclosed his decision to join the PDP via an official letter dated August 7, 2018, which was sent to the Chairman of his APC ward.
An excerpt in the letter reads: “I write to withdraw my membership of the APC with effect from today, August 7, 2018. This becomes imperative in view of the draconian leadership of the party at the state level and the local government level as well.”
