APC Abrogate Groups Within The Party Towards 2019 Election In Delta
The Delta State chapter of the Nigeria ruling political party, All Progressives Congress, APC, has dismantled all the mini groups in preparation for the forthcoming general elections in the country.
The party chapter has also directed that all social media groups which have been created to boost the popularity of the APC in the state to be expunged with immediate effect.
This decision was taken by the chapter to ensure that the party is stronger and united in its preparation for the 2019 election.
This new development was relayed during a caucus meeting which was held in Abuja on Tuesday.
The meeting had in attendance highly placed members of the party which included the immediate past governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Minister of State for Petroleum, Mr. IbeKachikwu to mention a few.
According to Prophet Jones Ode Erue, Delta State chairman of the party, members should not perceive the decision as a means of destroying the party, but rather should see it as a means to make the party stronger and to prepare it for the forthcoming election. This he made in a statement.
Part of the statement reads: ‘’At the meeting of the state caucus of our party held on February 13, 2018, a resolution was passed that all internal groups should be dissolved in order to build a more cohesive family and to ensure unity of purpose for future political tasks ahead.”
The meeting was well attended and included Comrade Adams Oshiomole. ‘’Based on the significance of the above to the internal state of our party, the state executive committee hereby directs that all internal groups within the party be dissolved effective from February 14, 2018.”
The groups that are now dissolved are Unity Group, Mainstream Delta APC, Light of APC, Consolidated Dynamics APC, I-PAC and other groups not listed.’’
