Applications Open: 2018 British Councils’ Future Leaders Connect
For those with yearning interest in global change and development, leadership skills training, the sustainable development goals, then NIGERIA NEWS brings the pleasurable announcement of the 2018 Future Leaders Connect, an annual program organized by the British Council.
The Future Leaders Connect is a network of global emerging leaders with dogged skills in policy drafting, influencing and implementation. Leaders produced every year by the British Council usually undergo rigorous training- practical and theoretical necessary to equip them with necessary knowledge and skills to stand as generational leaders.

The Future Leaders Connect is an opportunity to connect to a long-term network of emerging leaders from around the globe, who want to change the world through policy making.
Being a member of Future Leaders Connect, selected applicants will travel to the United Kingdom for nine days of advanced policy and leadership development at the University of Cambridge.
Chosen applicants will discuss amongst other things today’s biggest global challenges in the United Kingdom Houses of Parliament, meet inspirational leaders and visit world-renowned institutions.
Following their time in the United Kingdom, they will have worldwide connections, a policy action plan for change and the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to be influential leaders in their respective countries and beyond.
To take part, applicants must be aged between 18-35 and must be based in one of the Future Leaders Connect participating countries – Canada, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tunisia, UK, and the USA.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate your policy knowledge and senior leadership potential in their applications. Applications from Egypt and USA are by invitation only.
Applications will close on Sunday 13th May 2018 at 11:59 pm UK time.
The costs of travel, accommodation, and meals are covered by the British Council and the programme is fully accessible.
For applicants who do not gain one of the exclusive places on the programme, they will be invited to be part of the Future Leaders Connect Community where they can access a range of free online professional development policy and leadership resources.
