Tech News Today: Google Rescind Its Decision On Banning Huawei

The NIGERIA NEWS gathered a report that states that the United State of America, U.S.A government avert the restriction on a China’s company, Huawei. However, due to these changes in USA policy, Google then hopes to work with the company over 90 days period.

Google proposed on Sunday to rescind its decision in partnering with Huawei. This is due to Google’s perception to incline to Washington DC decision to include Huawei on a distinct list.

The USA commerce department issues a statement, giving both companies, Google and Huawei 9o day license to keep cordiality and work to keep the existing network more proactive and security from cybercrime.

A Google representative talked to CNBC on Tuesday that:

“Keeping phones up to date and secure is in everyone’s best interests and this temporary license allows us to continue to provide software updates and security patches to existing models for the next 90 days,”

The USA commerce department is also contemplating on the extension of the license between the two companies above 90 days. As of a week ago, about 69 companies with Huawei inclusive are blacklisted, preventing the Chinese company to have any transaction in the USA.

The USA government restrict the companies based on the fact that their operation does not comply with the best interest of the USA policy. On Monday, there issued a temporary authorization to give way for security bridges and for the Chinese mobile giant, Huawei to be part of the improvement of the 5G network for future purpose.

Aviation Union set to ground all activities at Airport tomorrow, Wednesday

The Aviation union, are set to embark on an indefinite strike tomorrow, Wednesday May 22, the resultant effect of this is that flight activities will be disrupted starting from tomorrow.

The indefinite strike is a result of their demand not being met by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Following the expiration of an earlier seven days ultimatum it issued by the union, they chose to resolve to embarking on industrial action.

The union which is made up of the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP) and the National Association of Air Transport Pilots and Employees (NAAPE), having exhausted all available means of reaching an impasse have declared an indefinite strike taking effect from Tomorrow (Wednesday) the 22nd of May, 2019.

According to a statement by the union, the industrial action would commence from 5:00am tomorrow. The General Secretary, NUATE, Com. Ocheme Aba; Deputy General Secretary, ATSSSAN, Comrade Frances Akinjole; Secretary General ANAP, Comrade Abdulrazaq Saidu; Deputy General Secretary, NAAPE, Comrade Umoh Ofonime had, in the notice, said that the Aviation ministry had failed to address its demands.

According to the union, “Having therefore exhausted all efforts and patience on the issues, we are left with no other option. Our unions hereby direct all staff of NCAA nationwide to commence an indefinite industrial action with effect from 0500hrs on Wednesday, 22nd May, 2019.
