Two men, Abiodun Emmanuel, 20, and Mike Emmanuel, 22, were on Tuesday brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft and breach of public peace.
The Prosecutor, Mr Akpan Ikem, told the court that the two men had between June and Aug.1 at Ibereko in Badagry, Lagos State, obtained money by false pretences.
He alleged that the accused collected N2.26 from one Sunday Adeyemo, a salesman.
“The two men dishonestly converted to their own use the sum of N2.26 property of Hybrid Feeds Company Ltd.
“The accused also harassed and instigated members of the public against one Sunday Adeyemi,’’ the prosecutor said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 311, 312 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaya, granted the two men bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the matter until Sept. 10 for hearing.
