It is no longer news that the elections of 2019 would be a replay of the war between Kronos, the lord of the Titans, and Zeus, his son, and the leader of the gods. It would be the battle of ages; the young and the old.

Below is the list of viable candidates in no particular order;
The incumbent president has not said anything specific with regards to running for a second term in 2019. However, going by course of events in the past few months, great possibility lie that the former head of state cum president would be recontesting in 2019.
The progressive governors’ forum which comprises of all APC governors has thrown their massive weight behind president Buhari by endorsing him for a reelection. It is however no longer news, that the 2019 election shall be a battle for popularity between Buhari and other northern leaders aspiring for the same office.

The former vice president has made it known to all Nigerians that he wishes to mount the seat of presidency. While many youths have opined that Buhari has failed the youths, Arewa youths have thrown their solid weight behind the Adamawa born with the hope that he is the messiah of the Nigerian situation.
Popularly known as the street governor. Governor Ayodele Fayose has declared his unalloyed intention to run for presidency come 2019.
The People Democratic Party (PDP) has however made quite a lot of noise over zoning the candidacy of the party to the north, which may turn out to be a disfavor for the Ekiti state governor.
Fayose is hell-bent however on competing to the end of the PDP ticket. His posters are already pasted around the streets of Abuja.
The immediate past chairman of the PDP caretaker committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi is being pressured from all angles to vie for the apex office of the federation.
The former Governor Kaduna state is respected and admired among the Northern youths. He is regarded as one of best governors Kaduna state ever had.
