Ibikunle Amosun, the executive governor of Ogun state, on Wednesday, September 5, announced that he was vying for a seat in the Nigerian Senate during the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
The governor has about eight months to the end of his tenure as Ogun state governor.
NIGERIA NEWS gathers that Amosun declared his intention to contest to represent Ogun Central senatorial district at the Senate.
It was learnt that the governor made the assertion at the state executive council meeting of the All Progressives Congress held at MITROS suites, Ibara, Abeokuta, the capital of the state.
In a related development, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that presidential aspirant dragged APC to court over the high cost of form.
