NIGERIA NEWS has gathered that the accounts of the Benue State government which was earlier reported to have been frozen by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been unfrozen.
This information was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor of the state, Mr Terver Akase in an interview held on one of the local media today.
According to Akase, “If EFCC freezes the accounts of any state government, Benue or anywhere else, I think it is unconstitutional, it is not right, because you are shutting down a government.”
He noted that the action of the EFCC was not a fair one considering the current security situation of Benue State.
In the words of Akase, “Government must spend, more especially Benue where there are issues of insecurity.”
