Antonio Conte Loses His Managerial Job At Chelsea
Premier League champions Chelsea have finally sacked the Italian boss Antonio Conte after several months of speculation.
NIGERIA NEWS notes that the former Juventus tactician was handed a £9m fee to leave Stamford Bridge for good, joining the likes of Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho among others in pocketing a huge sum after being fired.
Having won the Premier League in his very first season in England, the Italian struggled to reach those heady heights again in the previous concluded campaign.
Recall that the FA winners finished fifth on the Barclay Premier League tournament last season-this amid other speculations reportedly cost the 48-year-old Italian his job.
Meanwhile, the former Napoli boss Sarri has seemingly been lined-up to replace the outgoing Conte for weeks now – and has even left the Seria A club to facilitate the move.
Bizarrely, despite the sacking, Conte, 48, had been seen leading his Chelsea stars through pre-season training.
But now he is gone he is set to pocket a monster £9million to leave Stamford Bridge for good.
NIGERIA NEWS notes that it is the NINTH time in the Roman Abramovich era a boss has been handed a monster sum to leave peacefully.
In fact, the amount Chelsea have paid out to axed bosses now stands at an incredible £89.3m, including Conte.
Meanwhile, in an earlier report, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that Chelsea set to offload its key striker to fund Sarri’s bid as new club tactician.
