All EPL New Rules For The 2019/2020 Season

All EPL New Rules For The 2019/2020 Season

The International Football Association Board, IFAB, has affirmed English Premier League, EPL new rules and changes for the 2019/2020 season. The new principles would influence the Freekicks, Handball, Substitution, Drop ball and cards for coaches, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

The Video Aide Ref popularly known as VAR would so be implemented by next season in the English Premier League, EPL. The aforementioned areas where there would be new implementation would surely have a great effect in the league.

EPL New Rules Ahead 2019/2020 Season…

The rule that would be implemented under this is that there would be no chance given to any players to waste time on the pitch anymore, as substituted players would have to leave the pitch at the closest side of the pitch and card may probably be awarded for wasting time.

The Goalkeepers would, therefore, have to have a foot put on the line and would not be allowed to touch the goal posts before the shoot out of the penalty kicks. In this manner, no Goalkeeper would be able to exploit any chance to avert an opportunity to lead.

The coach would also have to be carded by the Referee in a similar as players were being carded during a match. Both yellow and red cards would also be applicable to coaches as well as starting from next season.

  • The goal would be denied if the ball actually strikes any player’s hand during the development to have a goal.
  • If any player should make any favourable moves in handling the ball outside the penalty kickbox, even if it regarded unintentional, freekicks would be awarded.
  • The IFAB dispose of ‘manufactured’ restarts if there be any drop balls.

The IFAB make it clear that:

“The current dropped ball procedure often leads to a ‘manufactured’ restart which is ‘exploited’ unfairly or an aggressive confrontation.

“Returning the ball to the team that last played it restores what was ‘lost’ when play was stopped, except in the penalty area where it is simpler to return the ball to the goalkeeper.

“To prevent that team gaining an unfair advantage, all players of both teams, except the player receiving the ball, must be at least 4m (4.5 yds) away.”

Transfer News: Would Coutinho Be Welcomed Back By Liverpool Fans?

Transfer News: Would Coutinho Be Welcomed Back By Liverpool Fans?

The Brazilian attacking midfielder is on a decision to be back at Liverpool from Barcelona. Coutinho played for Liverpool between 2011 to 2018. He left for Barcelona in 2017/2019 season and played attacking midfielder/winger, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

The Brazilian star has initially spent 6 years in English Premier League and now he wanted to be back at Anfield. The question is Would he be welcome well by Liverpool fans?

The decision is yet to be taken and silent for now. Carragher knew that Jurgen Klopp is always smart to take up an opportunity but that depends if Barcelona put the player on the price they can afford.

Jurgen Klopp then make an open statement as quoted below:

“I wouldn’t say I would be actively going to get him, but if there was a possibility of bringing Coutinho back for decent money, and Barca wanted to cut their losses a little bit because it hasn’t worked out, then I’d do that,”

“Would he be welcomed back? I’m not sure. But he should be. I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t be.

“I know he got a little bit of stick when he came back [for the Champions League semi-final second leg] because he wanted to move.

“But [Xabi] Alonso wanted to move to Real Madrid, [Luis] Suarez wanted to move to Barcelona, and we still loved them when they went.

“Sometimes we pick and choose who we love when they leave. Nobody forced any player to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona – [Javier] Mascherano is another one.

“Suarez only got stick when he came back because of his antics in the first game, if he hadn’t done that then he’d be adored when he came back. What’s the difference between him and Coutinho?”, he said.

Carragher added on the benefits that Coutinho could offer a side that missed out on the Premier League title but is readying itself for a Champions League final date with Tottenham: “We lack that player in the squad. We have it in [Adam] Lallana and [Xherdan] Shaqiri, but this is a different level of player.

Carragher speaks on the advantage of having Coutinho noting that he could fill a missing space in English Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp then finally added that,

“It’s the one thing Man City have on us, they have Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne. We don’t have that type of player.

“We have great midfield players who are all very similar. We could add something a little bit different.

“But that would only really be if it was a good price for us.”
