With just less than 24 hours to the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos state chapter, one of the leading aspirants in the state, Obafemi Hamzat, has announced that he is stepping down for Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the direct primary scheduled for Sunday, September 30 across the state of excellence.
NIGERIA NEWS gathers that Hamzat wooed all his loyalists to support and work for Sanwo-Olu, stressing that the decision is in the collective interest of the party.
The governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) holding tomorrow in the state would now be a straight battle between the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
It was learnt that the reconciliatory efforts being made by the campaign team of Sanwo-Olu to woo aggrieved members of the APC seems to be paying off.
Sanwo-Olu was on Friday, September 29, endorsed by the Iyaloja-General of Lagos state, Chief Mrs Folashade Tinubu- Ojo and other market leaders in the state.
Meanwhile, in an earlier report, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode expressed his readiness to participate in the APC governorship primaries in Lagos state.
