Following the bill seeking to re-order polls during elections, President Muhammadu Buhari has written the National Assembly.

In his letter he stated his decision, “to withhold assent to the controversial Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill.”

Following the bill seeking to re-order polls during elections, President Muhammadu Buhari has written the National Assembly.

In his letter he stated his decision, “to withhold assent to the controversial Electoral Act 2010 Amendment Bill.”

The letter which was read to the plenary today by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara at their different chambers revealed that, “the amendments to the principal Act would be in conflict with the laws establishing the Independent National Electoral Commission, among others.”
