2018 Appropriation Bill Ready For Presidential Assent Next Week
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina on Wednesday said President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the 2018 appropriation bill into law.
Adesina made this known while speaking with State House Correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the council chamber of State House, Abuja.
“The budget will be signed next week. We will give you the specific date when it is confirmed,” Mr Adesina said in response to inquiries by journalists.
NIGERIA NEWS had previously reported that the National Assembly on May 16 approved the 2018 appropriation bill of N9.12 Trillion up from the N8.612tn presented by President Muhammadu Buhari on November 7, 2017.
The Budget was based on key revenue assumptions of $51 as the benchmark oil price, 2.3million barrels per day (mbpd) as the crude oil production and N305/$ as the exchange rate.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang, on Friday, May 25, confirmed the receipt of the 2018 Budget from the National Assembly.
“I have received the budget on behalf of the Presidency. I am transmitting it now,” He said.
