Troops In Sambisa Forest Finally Have Access To Clean And Drinkable Water
General Buratai – Army Boss
In order to encourage and make available proper welfare for military officers who are deployed to Sambisa Forest in their duty of providing security in that part of the country, the Army Boss, General Buratai has made provision for pipe borne water in the area.
This development was relayed by the Brig.-Gen. Sani Kukasheka, the Director, Army Public Relations officer today in a statement that was dished out in Maiduguri.
According to the Army PRO, boreholes have been drilled in the communities in order for the Army officers to have access to clean water.
Other projects are also ongoing in Sambisa in order to aid the military officers in carrying out their duties which are geared towards fishing out Boko Haram terrorists who are still hiding in that part of the country.
More roads are being constructed in order to link the different communities in the area.
Part of the statement reads: “The Nigeria army is continuing with its clearance operation against the Boko Haram terrorists and making Sambisa Forest fit for lawful activities.”
“The Nigerian Army is further consolidating on the successes of Operation DEEP PUNCH II by troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, through infrastructural development.”
“The army has constructed a borehole at the cleared insurgents’ stronghold ‘Sabil Huda’ camp in Sambisa forest to enhance access to safe drinking water to the troops.”
“Apart from reducing the logistic effort of conveying water from one point to another by the troops, the water project will also assist the adjoining communities.”
It should be remembered that the Mohammadu Buhari’s Administration had earlier vowed to improve the living condition and welfare of the Nigerian military officers.
It should be recalled also that Nigerianews has reported that the Nigerian Army has placed a huge sum as a ransom for anyone who is able to provide the leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group.
