Madman Macheted Two Pupils To Death Within School Premises
An agony scene it was at Saint John’s Anglican Primary School, Agodo, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State as a man suspected to be mentally derailed hacked two pupils to death within the school compound.
Information gathered by Nigeria News on the incident revealed that the madman whose name was given as Lekan Adebisi had stormed the school premises around 11:15 a.m. when the school was on lunch break and killed two of the pupils of the school who were on the field playing.
The two pupils who were killed were identified as Mubarak Kalesowo and Sunday Obituyi, who were between ages three and four in the kindergarten class.
Nigeria News also gathered that the school is fenced but has no gate and as such anyone can freely enter the compound without being questioned at the entrance.
Lekan was said to have run away from the scene of the incident immediately after which he killed the pupils.
The news immediately got to residents of the community and parents whose children attend the school trooped in en masse to take their children home.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi corroborated the narration of the sources in the community, via a telephone conversation.
He disclosed that Police are already searching for the suspect who is still at large. He also made it known that security personnel have been deployed to the area.
In his words: “The incident happened at 11:15 a.m. during lunch break. They (pupils) were on the field playing.”
“The guy (suspect) just emerged from the bush and hacked two of them to death and immediately after ran away.”
“Those who know him (suspect) said he is a madman and also an indigene of that place.”
