An Upper Area Court in Kuje, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Thursday sentenced a labourer, Luka Bawa, to three months imprisonment for stealing a generator valued at N50, 000.
The Judge, Abdulahi Abdulkareem, sentenced Bawa with an option of N80, 000 fine.
Bawa, 25, a resident of Anguwan Lado Area in Kuje, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of joint act and theft.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Doris Okoroba, had told the court that the Complainant, Malam Sani Umar, a resident of Paseli Area, reported the case on Nov. 30, at the Kuje Police Station.
Okoroba, said that the convict with one other person now at large, broke into the complaint’s house and stole his generator.
She said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 288 and 326 of the Penal Code.
