Defection: Lagos PDP Chairman Dumps Party For APC

A huge blow hit the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  yesterday as the Chairman of its Lagos branch, Moshood Adegoke Salvador, dumped the party in order to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Information gathered by NIGERIA NEWS revealed that Salvador made the announcement to quit the PDP yesterday in his residential home located in the Surulere area of the state.

According to the information over 10,000 supporters of the Chairman are also ready to follow him to APC.

Speaking on his decision, the Chairman lamented how the PDP leadership abandoned him at the time he needed them most.

He disclosed that not a single member of the party paid him a visit in the police cell where he was being detained for over three weeks for allegedly participating in the gruesome murder of the PDP Apapa Local Government Area (LGA) chairman, Prince Adeniyi Aborishade.

In the words of Salvador, “Today, I received a phone call from the Chairman, PDP Board of Trustees (BoT). Later, I received a call from Prince Uche Secondus.”

“These are people who never called me for once or asked about my wellbeing during my travails. But they were now calling asking why I wanted to dump the party.”

Speaking further on the party he intends to join after leaving the PDP, he said: “At the last election, the gap between the APC and the PDP was just about 100,000. PDP has 44. 9 per cent, APC has 51.9 per cent. All other smaller parties added together had about 1.9 per cent, so which party will I be heading to?”

He stressed that he would work hard to ensure that the APC top in the 2019 election.

Quoting him, “I will mobilise and campaign for APC from wards to local governments.  I am ready to take my supporters to where they can get jobs, where they can get love and where they can get the dividend of democracy.”
