Drogba Gets New Role On His Return To Chelsea

Chelsea legend and Ivory Coast superstar Didier Drogba has made a stunning return to the Stamford Bridge as the club’s ambassador for sponsors Yokohama Tyres.

The former Chelsea striker remains one of the few players that made a high impact during his eight-year reign with the FA winners.

Drogba wins a Champions League and four Premier League titles among other domestic cups during his reign at the west London club.

After helping the Blues win their first European title in 2012, he joined Turkish side, but made a return to the Bridge for a year in the 2014-15 season.

Drogba joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2004 and scored 164 goals in all competitions – a period the Blues’ fans will not forget in a hurry.

During this period, he also win four FA Cups, three EFL titles and two Community Shields.

However, his return to the club this time differs from the role he played few years back after confirming his position as ambassador for shirt sponsors Yokohama.

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old might consider jumping in the chance to help the club with their goal scoring issues with Alvaro Morata finding it difficult to do the needful.

The former Real Madrid player endured a miserable debut season in the Premier League and admits he considered quitting for a return to either La Liga or Serie A after missing out on his country’s World Cup squad.

Morata revealed: “[Missing the World Cup] was a difficult time for me, but it doesn’t help anyone to think about the past.

“I’m going to do all I can to go to the next one. It was a difficult moment because I thought I was going to go.

“Clearly I thought about going back to play in Spain or Italy. Missing out on the World Cup made me consider it.

“I went to Chelsea to get to the World Cup. The last year wasn’t a happy one, it was a total disaster. I didn’t even know where I was.”
