Asset Acquisition: Ike Ekweremadu To Appear For Questioning Before EFCC On Monday, July 30

The report reaching NIGERIA NEWS gathers that the deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, will today Monday, July 30 appear before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning over some assets linked to him.

According to the report, the operatives of the anti-graft agency are to grill the senator at the EFCC’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday, July 30 by 10am.

A source who spoke on the matter said the fresh invitation followed the DSP’s request that he be given a new date for interrogation.

Ekweremadu is to be interrogated on some assets linked with him in United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States

The source said the commission had delivered a fresh invitation to Ekweremadu and he has confirmed receipt of the invitation.

Recall that NIGERIA NEWS reported that EFCC charged deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu with conspiracy and money laundering.

“We have delivered a fresh letter of invitation to Ekweremadu and he has confirmed the receipt. Our detectives are expected to interrogate Ekweremadu on some assets linked with him. The EFCC is suspecting that the assets were acquired with suspicious funds,” the source said.

The source added that some of the assets under probe are those said to have been omitted by the deputy Senate president in his assets declaration form.

“Some of these assets have been located in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States,” the source said.

Some of the apartments, allegedly being probed in the UAE, are e proper EGG1/1/114 and EGG1/1/115 Emirates Garden, Apartment DFB/12/B 1204 Park Towers, Flat 3604, MAG214 and Villa No.148, MAEEN1 The Lakes, Emirate Hills.

Others are Boulevard 3901, two flats of Burij Side Boulevard, The Signature; and Room 1903, Hotel Downtown.

Those in the UK include Flat 4 Varsity Court, Homer Street, WIH 4NW London and 52 Ayleston Avenue, NW6, London.

In the United States, the property are located in 4507 Stella Street, Bellavida Estate, Kissimmee, Florida; 2747 Club Cortile Circle, Kissimmee, Florida and 2763 Club Cortile Circle, Kissimmee, Florida.

Meanwhile, in an earlier report, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that EFCC and DSS operatives besieged Ike Ekweremadu’s house.

Chimamanda Adichie makes another history at Yale University by emerging as the first African to deliver a speech at Yale’s 318th commencement to celebrate the Yale college class graduands, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

Chimamanda Adichie is popularly known for his book ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ and ‘Americana’. She has also featured in TED talk on several occasion. The Class Day address is as of date back as in 19th century which reflects the student four years at the university. It also constitutes giving prizes to students in several aspects of the University. The students are the one to choose any profoundly acclaimed figure to deliver the speech.

This time around Chimamanda Adichie is chosen to deliver the address on 19th of May, 2019, succeeding Hillary Clinton, the Presidential candidates for the Democratic in the last US Presidential election against the Republican, Donald J. Trump.

The lists of profound people who have been chosen to address on that occasion are, Tony Blair, Barbara Walters, Tom Hanks, and many others. Chimamanda Adichie is now the first African to be included among the list.

Chimamanda Adichie was described by the organizing committee for the event as  “an inspiring global citizen whose words, teaching, and social activism has had an indelible impact on the diaspora and broader contemporary culture.”

Chimamanda Adichie Makes Another History At Yale University

Chimamanda as well got her master of Arts in African Studies in 2008 at Yale Unversity and commend the class that:

“I remember the many clever undergrads I met while at Yale and it’s an honor to know that a class of similarly clever students chose me to speak to them,”

Rabiu Yadudu Becomes New FAAN Managing Director

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, have gotten a newly appointed Managing Director, Rabiu Yadudu. Following the appointment by President Mohammadu Buhari, the Deputy Director for Press and Public Affairs of the Ministry of Transportation, James Odaudu revealed this on Monday in Abuja, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

The newly appointed Managing Director is preceded by Saleh Dunoma. Mr. Rabiu happened to be an accredited airport pratitioner in Airport Council International, ACI and International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO. He as well certified in Air Transport Systems, Airport Safety Management Systems and Avionics. Mr. Rabiu is formarly the Director of FAAN before his appointment as the Managing Director.
