Enugu State: Chijioke Okenwa Wanted Over The Murder of King Steven Nwatu

Chijioke Okenwa from Ogbozine Akpugo community in Enugu state has been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force over the killing of the traditional king of the community on Monday 11th, June. Igwe Steven Nwatu was murdered on the road on the said date and police had on Wednesday declared the alleged murder

It was said that the King ws physically abused and assaulted by the youths of the community over the issue to meet the state governor for a meeting, thereby was rushed to the hospital where he later lost his life.

NIGERIA NEWS gathered that the Enugu state police command spokesperson, Ebere Amaraize said an investigation launched on the alleged murder revealed that the man behind attach was Okenwa, the police later stated that an arrest warrant has been placed on the 48 years old Okenwa who businessman at the Alaba International Market, Lagos.

“The Enugu State Police Command is advising members of the public with useful information about how the suspect can be traced to report to the nearest police station or contact the command,” Amaraizu said


The monarch was attacked by his subjects and beaten to a pulp. He was rushed to the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, (ESUTH) Parklane, where he was confirmed dead.
