EPL: Chelsea Beat Brighton 4-0
Eden Hazard scored his 100th and 101st league goals to help Chelsea record its first Premier League win of the year with a 4-0 victory at Brighton on Saturday.
Eden Hazard opened the scoring when Brighton failed to clear a cross from Victor Moses and midfielder Willian added a second from 18 yards. Brighton tried to get back into the match but was denied by the bar, and some fine saves by Willy Caballero.
Chelsea finished off a dazzling solo run from the halfway line with an emphatic finish in the 77th minute. Moses completed the scoring after an excellent through ball from substitute Charly Musonda in the 89th minute.
The win took Chelsea into the third position above Liverpool who plays on Monday and one win in 13 league games leaves Brighton in 16th place.
“We are unbeaten in 12 games,” said Conte. “A lot of the time the press tries to see the negative aspect and not the positive aspect. This team, with many problems, is unbeaten in 12 games in all competitions.”
“To win in this way, despite not having five important players, means every player deserves to have a chance and every player has to fight to play. Now we have to continue in this way. Every player showed great responsibility and felt the responsibility. To grow in this aspect is very important for us.” Conte added
Chelsea was without suspended duo Alvaro Morata and Pedro and the injured Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas,
