Malam Yusuf Bashir, the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Kaduna ICT Hub, on Tuesday called on parents to expose their children early to Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Bashir, who made the call in an interview with NIGERIA NEWS in Kaduna, noted that the world had gone digital and no child should be left behind.
He said that exposing children to ICT early would help them to develop innovative and creative skills needed to make a difference in life and effectively tap from the opportunities in the digital market.

“Starting early will unleash their creative and innovative skills to start inventing things to solve societal problems,” he said.
He said that the ICT Hub would soon organise a three-week Summer Camp for kids whose ages ranged from five to 17.
Bashir said that the training, scheduled for August, would expose children to“ mobile app” and game development using “MIT App inventor, and Scratch”, a visual programming language.
“They will also be exposed to digital literacy where they will be taught computer basics, productivity programme and understanding the internet.
“We will equally take them on digital calligraphy where they will be introduced to cursive writing in the digital world.
“The kids will also be taught robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) to learn core techniques on robots that performs physical task.
“Exposing kids to these programmes will bring out the best in them and transformed them into ICT experts early in life,” Bashir said.
He advised that interested parents could log into www.kadicthub.com for details and how to sign up.
Bashir commended Gov. Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for his commitment toward empowering youths and women with digital skills to explore the digital economy at the comfort of their various homes.
“Kaduna State is blessed with talented youths and if supported will make great exploit in the ICT-driven world.
“ I am glad El-Rufai understands what the youths can do if empowered with digital skills.
“Organising series of ICT training for the youths and women in the state is gradually transforming Kaduna State into a centre of learning and innovation,” he said.
