Breaking: Former World Cup Champions Announce New Manager Just A Day To World Cup

Spain have announced former Real Madrid soccer star Fernando Hierro as their new coach for their campaign at the 2019 FIFA World Cup which will start on Thursday, June 14, in Russia.

NIGERIA NEWS notes that Hierro’s appointment comes just an hour after the Spanish Football Federation fired Julen Lopetegui who is now the manager of Real Madrid.

Lopetegui’s decision to have accepted Real Madrid job instigated the rationale for him to have been axed by the Spanish Football Federation chiefs.

According to the report by Mirror UK, the 50-year-old Fernando Hierro is now expected to be in charge of the Spanish team when they face Portugal on Friday, June 15, in their first match.

The former Real Madrid and Bolton star is Spain’s sporting director and his only managerial experience is a year in charge of Oviedo.

He spent 14 years at Real Madrid and also played 89 games for Spanish national team before he hanged his boots.

Meanwhile, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that US, Canada, Mexico confirmed as the host of 2026 World Cup.

Reports in Calciomercato have it that, Pep Guardiola finally ‘agrees’ a four years with a fee of €24m per year deal to join Italian giant, Juventus next season

The City’s boss who has just set a record of becoming the first men’s coach to achieve the feats of domestic treble in English football.

According to the Italian newspaper, the City boss will officially sign the deal on June 4 and will be unveiled by the club on June 14.

The Citizens gaffer and Liverpool boss, Jurgen klopp have been heavily linked to Juventus, while Klopp has stated categorically that he is not ready to swap Liverpool for the Old Ladies, Pep have also debunked rumours surrounding his purported agreement.

He said “How many times do I have to say? I’m not going to go to Juventus, I’m not going to move to Italy.

“I’m satisfied here, I’m not going anywhere. Next season I will be manager of Man City. I said many times,” Guardiola told reporters.

“I know today the social media has a heavy influence but I don’t understand, believe me.

“I don’t understand. Why on Twitter something is said and everybody in the big pages ‘Pep for the next four years is going to Juventus’. I don’t understand.

All EPL New Rules For The 2019/2020 Season

The International Football Association Board, IFAB, has affirmed English Premier League, EPL new rules and changes for the 2019/2020 season. The new principles would influence the Freekicks, Handball, Substitution, Drop ball and cards for coaches, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

The Video Aide Ref popularly known as VAR would so be implemented by next season in the English Premier League, EPL. The aforementioned areas where there would be new implementation would surely have a great effect in the league.

 

EPL New Rules Ahead 2019/2020 Season…

 

SUBSTITUTION

The rule that would be implemented under this is that there would be no chance given to any players to waste time on the pitch anymore, as substituted players would have to leave the pitch at the closest side of the pitch and card may probably be awarded for wasting time.

PENALTY KICKS

The Goalkeepers would, therefore, have to have a foot put on the line and would not be allowed to touch the goal posts before the shoot out of the penalty kicks. In this manner, no Goalkeeper would be able to exploit any chance to avert an opportunity to lead.

COACHES CARDS

The coach would also have to be carded by the Referee in a similar as players were being carded during a match. Both yellow and red cards would also be applicable to coaches as well as starting from next season.

HANDBALLS

  • The goal would be denied if the ball actually strikes any player’s hand during the development to have a goal.
  • If any player should make any favourable moves in handling the ball outside the penalty kickbox, even if it regarded unintentional, freekicks would be awarded.
  • The IFAB dispose of ‘manufactured’ restarts if there be any drop balls.

The IFAB make it clear that:

“The current dropped ball procedure often leads to a ‘manufactured’ restart which is ‘exploited’ unfairly or an aggressive confrontation.

“Returning the ball to the team that last played it restores what was ‘lost’ when play was stopped, except in the penalty area where it is simpler to return the ball to the goalkeeper.

“To prevent that team gaining an unfair advantage, all players of both teams, except the player receiving the ball, must be at least 4m (4.5 yds) away.”
