The Christ Embassy Church in Abakaliki has applauded Gov. David Umahi for his passion and commitment to empowering Christian faithful to improve their quality of lives.
The Senior Pastor of the church, Pastor Eunice Oyeyemi, gave the commendation on behalf of second and third batches of the recipients of the empowerment on Sunday in Abakaliki.
Oyeyemi said that the first recipients were showing positive signs that the empowerment programme had impacted their lives.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the state government began the empowerment programme for members christian faith since August 2019 with physical cash to start up businesses of their choice.
She said there was the need for Christians to avoid strife against one another but rather show appreciation to attract blessings from God Almighty.
In her homily during Sunday’s church service, she advised Christians to get rid of tale bearers in their families and the society.
She urged ladies to avoid placing themselves beyond their reach and not to underestimate men during marriage as such acts would led to mistakes in life.
She also warned young men to make choices of ladies during marriage of whom they would contend with and build a peaceful home for a better society.
Moreso, she urged parents to give their children the right values of life in order to avoid strife.
She said: “Anything you are God gave you. Christians should rejoice with one another.
“To live a practical Christian, one must identify and refuse to entertain gossip and be genuinely happy with others’ progress,” Oyeyemi said.
