National leaders of APC and former governor of Lagos state, burners of Agbaje governorship dreams and the breakers of Ambode second term ambition have spoken about his high standard of moral judgment of what he used to influence voters in Nigeria.
NIGERIA NEWS had earlier reported that Some senators has accused a leading Lagos politician of going about trying to rigged the supplementary elections, we have although prepared ourselves to report live updates of supplementary elections today
Tinubu also speaks about his manoeuvres ability to gather his party members for a purpose and his veteran skills as a politician to campaign with all his resources as one of the major reasons he is still very important till date after leaving office since 2007
He spoke on Friday in Lagos while responding to an advertorial in the media, alleging that he met with the INEC Chairman to influence the Sokoto State governorship rerun election in favour of the APC, NAN reports.
In the statement released by Tinubu: “Our attention has been drawn to a partisan advertorial in the March 21 edition of Daily Trust, entitled – ‘Inconclusive Gubernatorial Election: Sokoto People Warn Tinubu, Oshiomole, Yari, Bagudu and others’.
“The advertorial, placed by an organisation called the Sokoto State Coalition of PDP Supporters, bears the logo of PDP National Youth League and is signed by one Engr. Haruna Usman Shagari.
“The advert made baseless allegations against myself, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, Chairman of APC, Sen. Adamu Aliero and Gov. Abdul’Aziz Yari of Zamfara.
“It falsely alleges that I, along with the others, met the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in order to influence the Sokoto State gubernatorial rerun election in favour of the APC.
“These allegations by a contrived PDP organ are desperate untruths without a basis in fact. But they are entirely in line with the delusional reactions of PDP to their loss in the presidential elections.”
Tinubu said that he had Always been at the forefront of the struggle for electoral reform which culminated in the establishment of the Uwais Commission by late President Umaru Yar’adua.
“A prominent member of that panel, Prof Attahiru Jega later became the INEC Chairman and was able to implement the far-reaching reforms that have enabled us to have the free and fair elections that we witnessed in 2015 and now in 2019.
“If I were such a prominent supporter of electoral reforms, why wilI I now be among those trying to subvert democracy?
“My only tools for influencing elections are my moral authority, my skills as a veteran politician, and dedication to campaigning and mobilising my own party members, ” he said.
Tinubu urged the PDP in Sokoto state to desist from using his name to defraud the people or as a way to gain sympathy.
“With respect to Sokoto, former Gov. Aliyu Wamakko is a popular figure and leader who has the respect of the people of the state.
“It is also clear that the APC candidate is more qualified and more committed to the welfare of the people than his PDP opponent.
“By his panicked responses, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has shown his sheer desperation, fears that his political career is crumbling. If he loses this election, he has lost everything.
“Thus there is no untruth he will not tell and no tactic too extreme in order to hold on to his seat. However, he should not use my name to defraud the people or as a way to gain sympathy.
“Instead, Tambuwal should face the consequences of his own actions. It is Tambuwal, who has caused his own predicament. The people know that Tambuwal has sacrificed their interests to advance his own.
“He can try whatever propaganda and untruths he wants, but in the end, the people will render the verdict that his selfish and unproductive record deserves, ” Tinubu said.
Nigerian reacts to Islamization of Africa, boko haram and herdsmen revelation by Olusegun Obasanjo
Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, has called on erstwhile President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo to divulge more on what he knows about Boko Haram, killer herdsmen and alleged plot to Islamise Nigeria.
The former Aviation Minister made this known in a statement he released to the press. He said the former president remains the only politically articulate in the Southern half of the country and that he understand better the imminent dangers that lurk around the corner for Nigeria.
NIGERIA NEWS report earlier the revelation made by Obasanjo on how BUhari is empowering Boko Haram and Killer herdsmen.
The statement read: “Obasanjo is deeply courageous and his latest contribution that there is an agenda to Fulanise West Africa and Islamise Africa says it all.
“Obasanjo needs say no more. History and posterity will be kind to him for speaking the bitter truth and saying what almost every other southern and Middle Belt politician and leader knows to be true but is too timid and too scared to say publicly.
“With his latest contribution he has vindicated yours truly and many others. I saw this coming in late 2013 and I told the world. Nnamdi Kanu saw it coming in 2014 and he told the world. Asari Dokubo saw it in 2015 and he told the world.
“Afenifere, OPC, YOLICOM, PANDEM, MEND, the Middle Belt Forum, the Niger Delta Avengers, IPOB, MASSOB and Ohaeneze saw it in 2017 and they told the world. The Christian Elders Forum, CAN and the Church saw it in 2018 and they told the world.
“Sadly the world refused to listen, left us on our own and, instead of rising to the occasion and confronting the evil, Nigerians went on bended knee to the powers that be and acted as if they were not saddled with a major problem that was bound to eventually consommé them all. Now they know better even though most of them are still in denial.
“Now they must live with the consequences of their indifference, ignorance, cowardice and stoicism. What a pity.
“It is a tragedy of monumental proportions that a nation that is so blessed with extraordinary human and mineral resources should end up going this way.
Fani Kayode, did not spare former Jigawa governor, Sule Lamido, for attacking Obasanjo and defending President Muhammadu Buhari as he attacked him back.
“I hear one or two people like Sule Lamido are not too happy with what OBJ said and have called him out for saying it. That is sad and unfortunate because Obasanjo has done more for the core north, Lamido’s Fulani tribe and Nigerian unity than any other former President or Head of State in our history. He also fought in a civil war to keep the country together.
“For anybody from the core north to call him names for speaking the truth and baring his mind over what is unfolding in Nigeria today tells you how blinded by power, insensitive and callous some of these people are.
“It is only those that subscribe to the Fulanisation and Islamisation agenda that will criticise or oppose Obasanjo’s observation and describe him as “a bigot” for making them.
“What Obasanjo said was timely and necessary and millions are commending him for it. He spoke the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.”
