Pastor Kayode Warns Politicians Against Killing Each Other Over Election Results
Ahead of the 2019 General Elections, Nigerian Politicians have been warned against resorting to do-or-die political tactics which often involves killing opponents in the run-off to the polls.
The General Overseer of the Supporters’ Church, Taiwo, Ilorin Kwara State, John Kayode made this call in Ilorin while speaking to journalists.
Pastor Kayode warned that the wrath and fierceness of God would descend on any politician who kills his fellow opponents for the sake of winning elections at all costs.
Alternatively, the Man of God enjoined the politicians to have the fear of God in their dealings and to embrace one another even after losing to the advancement and development of the nation.
The Ilorin-based pastor advised that Nigerian politicians could take a cue from the Western world in this regard where the loser embraces the winner after elections and they both work together irrespective of their personal aspirations.
Pastor Kayode said: “The time has come for politicians to accept elections results, collaborate with the contender to move the nation forward.
“Murdering your opponent during election will not yield any reward. This must stop in 2019 as we need to witness a free and reasonable election in Nigeria.
“Do-or-pass on politics issues won’t take us anyplace. We have to imitate Western world where one the candidate that lost compliments the other after election results.
“Any government official that proceeds to execute opponent’s life to achieve position is just welcoming God’s fierceness and will clearly think twice about it with time.”
