IPOB Condemns Attack On BIM Members

The Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), has condemned the alleged death and detention of some members of the Biafra Independence Movement, (BIM), by security agencies during a gathering. The group made the condemnation in a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, on Wednesday.

It stated that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and South East governors are to be blamed for the development.

The group also told the Nigerian Military, instead, should focus on using its hardware and fire power on Fulani terror herdsmen in Benue, and other terrorists in the North-East region of the country.

NIGERIA NEWS gathered that IPOB  also issued a warning to some of its members allegedly “romancing with Arewa politicians,” adding that those involved in the act should cover their heads in shame as their “duplicitous character will never endear them to the oppressor.”

He said: “There remains only two constituencies to blame for this and they are Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbo governors. Their repeated silence over the slaughter of their own people makes them accomplices.”

“Those agitators romancing with Arewa politicians by night, but jump up during the day to shout Biafra must cover their faces in shame. Their duplicitous character will never endear them to the oppressor.”

“We are asking the Nigerian government to focus its military hardware and fire power on Fulani terror herdsmen in Benue and other Northern terrorist groups active in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.”

“The senseless killings of unarmed Biafra agitators must stop because it will only breed more diehard activists that may choose to abandon the non-violence stance of IPOB. One day, violence will surely beget violence if this ongoing anti-Biafra persecution is not stopped.”

Zainab Bagudu

The first lady of Kebbi state, Zainab Bagudu has condemned the former acting Chief Justice of the state, Justice Asabe Saratu for not retiring from her position honourably.

Recall that her husband, governor Atiku Bagudu had sacked Saratu for complaining to the National Judicial Council (NJC) that her appointment was no confirmed by the state house of assembly because she is a Christian.

Zainab, who took to her Facebook page to react to this said although she celebrated her upliftment to the number one legal post in the state, but condemned what she termed her selfish attempt.

“As a female born to parents who both belong to the legal profession, I loudly celebrated the rise of Justice Asabe Karatu as the first female Chief Justice of Kebbi state. More so, I attended the university with her daughter. Now, I totally condemn her selfish attempt to hang on to position instead of retiring honourably.

Zainab who pointed that her allegations have brought about undeserved insults and criticism one her husband, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and others, noted that sadly, that is one of the burdens of leadership.

“It is worrisome that as a Nation, we allow religion to quickly divide us rather than use reason to search for reasons to avoid conflict.

“The statement below will not clear every mind, but it is necessary to set the records straight and we owe it to our children to always do what is right. Most of all, We should ALWAYS try to be bigger than our personal ambition. ”
