Tottenham striker Harry Kane was delighted at the end of the match between Tottenham and Real Madrid as he swapped shirt with Christiano Ronaldo.
Kane who sees Ronaldo as his role model was part of the team that played the Tottenham Real Madrid Champions League match which ended with a 1-1 draw.
The game was a showdown as between the duo as fans have named it.
Kane and Ronaldo are the two top scorers in Europe this year.
The duo had something to do that triggered the goal for each of their sides in the match. Kane influenced the own goal that opened Tottenham’s goal as he pressurised Raphael Varane. Ronaldo, on the other hand, equalised from the penalty spot.
The Spurs striker, Kane who likes Ronaldo and wants to walk in his steps simply said: “I asked for his shirt.”
“I gave him my shirt – I don’t know what he’ll do with it. We just said, ‘See you in a couple of weeks.’”
Spurs and Real, locked on seven points with identical records at the top of Group H, meet again at Wembley later this month, and Kane said their performance in Madrid had been “a great night for us.”
He added, “We can be proud of it, the fans can be proud and the whole club can be proud.”
“It was a big statement. A few years ago we were playing in the Europa League, and to come here to the Bernabeu and put in a performance like that – we drew and maybe could have won – shows what kind of team we are.”
