Uba Muhammad’ Abductors Demand N20 Million Ransom
A source from a family member of the Secretary of Kano state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Uba Muhammad disclosed that kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N20m to set Uba free.
Uba Muhammad was forcefully taken away by unknown armed men at gunpoint in the early hours of Saturday, March 3.
The source disclosed that the case has been reported to the security quarters and that the concern authorities are responding to the demand.
According to him, ”It was a shocking news on Saturday when the development was reported to the board. He was kidnapped at his village where, he mostly, spend his weekend.
”We were told by the family that some people invaded the family house with guns and took him away. We have already reported the case to the government and relevant security apparatus and we hope the man will be rescued soonest.”
It was learned that the state police public relations officer Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the development.
The state PPRO who explained that the reports got to its quarter by the family member who came to lodge complaint assured the concerned family of their commitment to rescuing the victim alive.
