Just as one of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential aspirant, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, was declaring his ambition in the Federal Capital yesterday, some of his supporters were also announcing the withdrawal of their support for him in Kano State.

The supporters who are members of the Tricycle Riders Association of Nigeria, Kano State chapter  All Progressives Congress, APC.

As gathered by NIGERIA NEWS, the defectors converged at the Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium where they were welcome to the APC by the party’s Kano State chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas.

In order to further show the withdrawal of their support, the defectors set ablaze the red caps they once held which serve as a symbol of their support for Kwankwaso.

Speaking to the reporters on their decision to dump the PDP, the leader of the defectors, Sani Sharu Dala, said they are satisfied with the youth empowerment programmes which is being carried out by the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration since the inception of the APC led government in the past three years.

The defectors were all seen chanting “sai baba” as they set the red caps ablaze and as they dispersed from the stadium where the event took place.
