An unemployed 32-year-old, Oluwadamilare Oyekunle, who allegedly stole a tricycle worth N665, 000.00, was on Monday docked at an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court, in Lagos State.
Oyekunle, whose address was not known, was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, Mary Ajiteru, told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 30, at about 5.00 a.m. at the Ojubode area of Ikorodu.
She told the court that the accused conspired to steal a tricycle belonging to the complainant, Obetta Samuel.
“The suspect was apprehended in Osun, after a frantic search for him by the police.
“The police was able to trace and apprehend him through the assistance of his guarantor,’’ Ajiteru said.
She said that the offences are punishable under Sections 411, 278 (10) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, (Revised).
Oyekunle, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, E .O. Ogunkanmi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N300, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Oct. 4, for further hearing.
