Man Allegedly Kills His Parents In Abia State
Operatives of the Abia State Police Command are reported to be conducting an investigation into an alleged murder case in which a man identified as Osinachi Amanze, an indigene of Isala Ngwa South Local Government Area of the State has been arrested for allegedly killing his parents.
The police also made the arrest of one Chinacha Peter in connection with the alleged murder.
The arrest of the suspects was confirmed in a statement which was made available to newsmen in the Umuahia by the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Anthony Ogbizi.
The Police Commissioner said that a retired ASP identified as Rowland Ikpeama in the company of the village head of Umuosama Umuokiri Nvosi Isiala Ngwa South had filed a report at a police station, saying that Amaze had killed his parents, namely Jonah Amaze, his 92-year-old father, and Gold Amanaze, his 65-year-old mother, while they were asleep.
He also said that Amanze had confessed to being responsible, along with Peter, an indigene of Umuokiri Ehinuguru, within the same Local Government Area, for the murder of his parents.
He also said that the bodies of the deceased have been taken to a mortuary, while the police are currently making efforts to recover the weapon which is said to have been used in the killing of the victims, which the suspects said that they had disposed of after the crime.
