N-power News: Scheme release update on March stipend for beneficiaries

Since the introduction of electronic devices to be used as a tool of learning and working, N-Power beneficiaries have been enjoying free internet access for a year.

The electronic devices come with unique MTN sim cards that have been special configured for the scheme and are loaded with 750 Mb of data, which is automatically renewed every month.

However, since the beginning of April, the beneficiaries data as not been renewed, neither as their monthly stipends been paid as confirmed by Abodunrin Amao, a beneficiary of the scheme.

He stated that the data which automatically renews on the first of every month has not been received till now and that their stipends for the past month hasn’t been received, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

Minimum Wage: Does it affect Npower Monthly Stipends? – A few days ago, Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari signed the new National Minimum Wage Bill into law which is expected to take immediate effect according to sources within the presidency.

The passing of this bill into law has however steered up nationwide rumours especially on social media with regard to the increment of the monthly stipend of federal government’s social intervention scheme “Npower”.

Npower News: About Npower Portal And Update

Update reaching NIGERIA NEWS is that the Npower portal which was meant to be opened for fresh applicants from November 5th till November 16th has now been postponed.

The administrators of the Npower scheme have come out publicly to apologize to the prospective applicants because of the failure to open the Npower portal for fresh applicants especially for those who want to register for the Nower Build category scheme.

In a statement released by the administrators, they revealed that the fresh applications have been postponed for few weeks and information concerning the re-opening of the portal would be communicated to the public in due course.

Recall that we earlier reported on NIGERIA NEWS that the Npower Build portal was announced open for fresh applications between November 5th and November 16th, but, the new development which has arisen lately has made applicants worried. Fresh applicants are hereby advised to wait patiently for the re-opening of the portal which may come up in the coming weeks.

The trending update which concerns N-power scheme currently is the Npower Build scheme. The Npower build scheme is however a training and certification programme  which will engage and train 75,000 young employed Nigerians with the sole aim of building a crop of skilled and highly competent and responsible workforce of Nigerian technicians, experts, artisans and as well service professionals.

As the name implies, you would be trained and built in the right way to become a professional and technician in the chosen field which will be listed below.

The fields which the Npower Build scheme will focus on include:

  1. Building Services
  2. Construction
  3. Built Environment Services
  4. Utilities
  5. Automotive
  6. Aluminium and Gas.

The N-power Build scheme is based on preferences which include:

  • People who are currently unemployed: This is to say if you are employed, you need not apply or you would not be looked upon.
  • People who do not have degree or diploma: If you have gone through University or Polytechnic, you are not required to apply for the Npower build scheme.
  • People who are between the age 18-35
  • People who have interest in fixing, building and creating stuffs.
