Boko Haram: Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Kicks Off Operation Thunder Strike In Northeast
In a bid to combat the menace of the blood-sucking Boko Haram terrorists in the Northeast of the country, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced the conduct of ‘Operation Thunder Strike’ in the volatile region.
NIGERIA NEWS notes that, on Monday, May 14, the Air Task Force commenced the conduct of Operation Thunder Strike with a view to attacking specified Boko Haram terrorist location.
According to the report, the operation is an independent air interdiction by the NAF to attack selected Boko Haram terrorist locations in the northeast, which are currently inaccessible to own troops on account of the onset of the rainy season.
In a statement issued by the NAF spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Olatokumbo Adesanya, several targets have already been successfully acquired with encouraging results.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, is currently in Maiduguri to enable him to have firsthand information on the operation, which is still ongoing.
