The National Assembly is currently seeking for twenty-five years imprisonment for anyone who is found guilty of terrorist activity in the country.
As gathered by NIGERIA NEWS the house is debating on the Counter-Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Bill 2018.
The bill is geared towards sanctioning anyone proven to be guilty of partaking in terrorist activities in the country.

Also the bill is seeking for the establishment of National Counter Terrorism Centre to be saddled with the responsibility of overseeing anti-terrorism efforts as well as 25-years imprisonment for all physical acts and intents of terrorism, terrorists’ meetings, provision of instructions or training for terrorists, harbouring or hindering arrest of terrorists, concealing information about terrorists any other thing relating to terrorism.
He further disclosed that the bill would be passed by the lawmakers as soon as they resumed back in office.
Recalled that the Senate President, Dr.Bukola Saraki had previously adjourned the last sitting in the Senate till 22 of September.
This was shortly after he announced the defection of about 40 lawmakers from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to the leading opposition party in the country, People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
