According to the Head of Media and Information of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mr Fabian Benjamin, the ongoing strike of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) might force the Board to postpone the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Mock Test again.
As reported by Nigeria News, the Examination Board had yesterday revealed that it would now conduct the Mock Test on February 26th.
However, in the same breath, Mr Benjamin said that since the non-teaching staff a critical stakeholder in the conduct of the examinations, ‘their presence would be felt if the issue is not resolved.’
Mr Benjamin said to newsmen on Sunday: “We are still hopeful that an amicable resolution of the crisis would be reached before the date of the examination.
“The unions are our critical stakeholders and their absence would be felt if the issue is not resolved before Monday, February 26.
”We had prayed and worked tirelessly to ensure that the strike was called off hence our continued shifting of the dates for the examination.”
