1. PDP reacts as INEC declares Matawalle, others winners of Zamfara election
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to official declaration of its candidate, Bello Matawalle, as winner of the Zamfara State governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Mahmood Yakubu had on Saturday declared Bello Mohammed Matawalle and other PDP candidates winners of the elections held in the state.
He made this known during at a press conference monitored by DAILY POST in Abuja on Saturday.
According to Yakubu, PDP won in all elective positions in the state after the All Progressives Congress failed to conduct a valid primary election.
2. What Buhari said about Amosun in Ogun on Saturday
President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday in Abeokuta inaugurated some projects executed by the outgoing governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun.
The projects were the Ogun Judicial Complex, along Kobape Road, the 10,000 – seater capacity Amphil-Theatre at Oke-Ilewo, the Campala/Adire mall at Itoku and the Ogun Television Digital Studio along Ajebo Road.

The people of Gedegede Community in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State are currently in panic mood after alleged threats by suspected herdsmen to kill their monarch, Oba Walidu Sanni.
DAILY POST gathered that nine suspected Fulani herdsmen had during the week invaded the palace of Onigedegede of Gedegede over the stance of the monarch on the activities of the herdsmen in the community.
According to the monarch, he disclosed that the suspected herdsmen stormed his palace, harassed and threatened him.
4. May 2019: Sanwo-Olu makes promises ahead of inauguration
The Lagos State Governor-elect, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday said he would work assiduously to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Samwo-Olu made the promise in Ikeja while speaking at the “Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat Victory Party” organised by the Independent Campaign Group (ICG), his campaign organisation.

The senator said this in Abuja on Saturday at an event organised by an advocacy group known as Almajiri Child Right Initiative (ACRI), to mark the 2019 Almajiri Child Rights Day.

The petitions include those separately filed by three political parties challenging the election of Sen. Bala Mohammed of the Peoples democratic Party (PDP), as governor-elect.

Over one hundred houses and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed by a heavy windstorm in Kiyawa town of Kiyawa Local Government in Jigawa State.
A Resident of the area, Malam Sale told, DAILY POST that the incident happened on Friday at about 5:30 at Mandela, Zakirai Yamma, Kofar Gabas and Tsallakawa Quarters of Jigawa town.
He explained that the incident has rendered over 100 families homeless and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed including furniture, foodstuffs, clothing, among others.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari Offers Condolences to the Jigawa state Governor, Abubakar Badaru due to the death of his mother in law Hajiya Binta Garba Tasha Funtua, NIGERIA NEWS reports.

Umar Ganduje Has Taken An Aggressive Move On The Alleged Missing N6.8M At The Zoo (Full Details)
The Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has taken a step on the alleged Gorilla that swallows the sum of 6.8 million naira at the Zoo, NIGERIA NEWS reports.
The incident which happened during the Eid-Fitr celebration and this has made the Governor of the state, Umar Ganduje to reacts in giving an order to get to the root of the matter.
According to the report gathered from the Managing Director of the Zoo, Umar Kobo, he narrated the ordeals by stating that:
“The issue is under investigations for now and I don’t want to say anything on the matter, many journalists have come to meet me but I don’t want to talk anything.
“What I can confirm is that money is missing.”
The Police representative in Kano, Abdullahi Haruna reveal the reports which state that 10 people that were on duty when the incident occurred have been apprehended and the investigation into the root of the matter is currently ongoing.
Mr. Haruna states as quoted below:
“Yes, it is true that money from five days of Sallah festivities is missing from the Kano zoo
“As at now, we have arrested 10 members of staff of the zoo including the security man and those working in the finance unit.”
The NIGERIA NEWS earlier reports that Ganduje has instructed the Anti-corruption commission to probe anyone involved in the incident. The order was reported by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar.
