The reports reaching NIGERIA NEWS claim that two factions of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo state chapter are in loggerhead over the method of the primary election the state will employ in the election of their candidates for 2019 elections.
It was learnt that the faction led by the state chairman, Daniel Nwafor, was said to have earlier adopted the indirect mode of primaries for all elective positions in the party ahead of the 2019 elections.
The coalition group disclosed that the adoption of direct primaries for all elective positions will be the most suitable, considering the litigations surrounding the ward, local and state congresses of the party in the state.
Theodore Ekechi, the spokesman of the forum, further explained that the national working committee of the party had also endorsed the decision to adopt the direct mode of primaries.
In an earlier report, NIGERIA NEWS had reported that Senator Shehu Sani revealed one major thing the APC should adopt to emerge victorious in the forthcoming 2019 election.
